Face To Face
Face To Face as title for this group show took inspiration from a recent painting by Fendry Ekel whereas the curation is focusing on the genre of the portrait as subject matter. The selection of art works is displaying different facets of the portrait’s conception in visual art. It reflects various manifestations of what the motivating idea behind a portrait can be visually: A portrait as representation, self-reflection, projection, sign of absence vs. presence, as icon and as a symbol. Participating artists are:
Jumaldi Alfi, Ashley Bickerton, Marco Cassani, Heri Dono, Fendry Ekel, Anthea Hamilton, Mangku Muriati, Sally Smart, Narcisse Tordoir and Maurizio Vetrugno.
The exhibition runs through March 25th, 2024 and is organized by V-Room supported by Honold Fine Art and hosted by BIASA Art in Ubud, Bali.
